Traffic regulations

Cars must have their lights on day and night.

Hazard lights – use your hazard lights when tailbacks are forming on motorways.

Indicators – use your indicators when changing lanes to overtake.

Seatbelts – seatbelts are compulsory in the front and back seats for everyone over the age of 3.
All children under 3 must be secured – in approved safety equipment appropriate for their age, size and weight. Infants aged 0-3 must be secured first, taking precedence over other passengers, if there are not enough seatbelts for everyone in the vehicle.
Children over 3 must also be properly secured. A child should use a child’s seat until the age of 3-4. Slightly older children may sit on a seatbelt cushion and from approx. age 8/25 kg a child is generally big enough to use the regular vehicle seatbelts.
